Dullstroom enjoys a unique birding environment. It is a prime spot for grassland birding – and although it lacks a great diversity of species, this is more than made up for by the presence of some local specials, and by the ease with which grassland endemics are observed.

The Dullstroom Bird of Prey Centre is a great venue for getting up close and personal with a number of raptor species. Established in 1997, the centre serves as a refuge for these precious prey species. Here you can view flight displays and take part in handling days or just relax and enjoy a meal amongst the lovely scenery and birds.
