For many years my partner and I visited Dullstroom as our getaway place. On one of these trips away from the city of Joburg, we stumbled across Dunkeld Country and Equestrian Estate. We stopped in the forest at the entrance of the estate and saw the beautiful set up of the intimate, absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous wedding venue in the forest.

It was on this first visit that we decided then and there that we would get married at Dunkeld, which we saw as the highlight of our Dullstroom visits.

Three years later, on 31 March 2018, Andrew and I tied the knot at the Estate. It was a small celebration with 50 of our closest friends and family. It was the wedding I had always imagined!

Unfortunately due to the weather, we could not get married in the forest itself. However, the staff at Dunkeld were absolutely amazing. Accommodating, understanding and exceptionally professional! They were on hand from the get go, helping with all the details, ensuring that everything was done, making the day as stress free as possible. They set up the chapel and reception beautifully.

The beauty of the venue did not let us down. Our guests were so impressed with the Estate and the service. The staff are helpful, always have a smile on offer, and are happy to go the extra mile. The food we were served at the reception was really delicious and unique. Brenda from Dunkeld was a super star, there for us through every step of planning at the venue for our special day.

After the wedding my husband and I spent a few days relaxing at Dunkeld, unwinding and just enjoying the nature around us. We went flyfishing, enjoyed relaxing with a braai at the indoor pool, bike riding and more. The honeymoon suite was gorgeous and the service continued to be top notch.

By the time we left we had already decided that we would be returning on our ten year anniversary to renew our vows, in the forest this time!

We will definitely return many times over before our ten year celebration though!
