About Dullstroom

Your Dullstroom Getaway

A short 2 hour drive from Gauteng lies the jewel of the Mphumalanga Trout Triangle, Dullstroom.

Dullstroom is also well known as Emnotweni, which suitably means “the place of prosperity”. Dating back to the early 1880’s, the Dutch immigrants settled in the rolling hills of Dullstroom for its abundance of water and for some of the best trout fishing in the country. Which still lures fishing enthusiasts and foodies from all over the world to this day.

This buzzing country village has no shortage of sights to see and things to do. From fly fishing and mountain biking, to bird watching, food tasting, wine tasting and so much more!

Golf

With its rolling hills and beautiful landscape Dullstroom is the perfect destination for your next game of golf. Only three hours drive from Pretoria or Johannesburg, Dullstroom offers several phenomenal courses that caters to the needs of amateur and pro-golfers.

While visiting Dullstroom with the boys or family you can’t miss the opportunity to play Highlands Gate golf course and if you are staying with us, we will be able to arrange your game and take care of your personal needs.

The exclusive Highland Gate golf course is one of the newer clubs in the area and is the brainchild of South Africa’s darling, Ernie Els. The grandeur of the scenic countryside is reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands with expansive views stretching for many miles. The course itself provides a real test for golfers of every level, with multiple tees, strategically placed hazards and tricky elevations.

Recently the course has also been ranked as number 15 out of 100 in Golf Digest’s Top 100 Golf Course Rankings making it a definite bucket list item.
